1st National Open Men’s Kho Kho Championship Concludes Successfully in Tulsipur, Nepal

Tulsipur, Nepal — The 1st National Open Men’s Kho Kho Championship came to a thrilling end in Tulsipur, showcasing competitive spirit and exceptional talent from across Nepal. The event was a significant step forward in the development of Kho Kho in the country.

🥇 Champions: Nepal Army

🥈 Runners-up: Lumbini Province

🥉 2nd Runners-up: Sudurpaschim Province

The winners were awarded with impressive cash prizes along with trophies and medals:

  • 1st Place: NPR 50,000
  • 2nd Place: NPR 30,000
  • 3rd Place: NPR 10,000

The championship was graced by key figures from the Nepal Kho Kho Association, including Central President Pradeep Maharjan, Central Vice President and Senior Coach Laxminarayan Baidya, and Central Member Usha Kanwar Magar Bhandari. The presence of experienced coaches and referees from India added further prestige and technical expertise to the event, according to Dang Kho Kho Association President Balkrishna Shah.

In an exciting post-tournament development, friendly matches are scheduled between the national teams of Nepal, India, and Lumbini Province, promoting international sporting relations and growth of Kho Kho in South Asia.

Notably, Nepal recently secured 2nd place in both the men’s and women’s categories at the 1st Kho Kho World Cup, reflecting the country’s rising stature in the global Kho Kho arena.
