In a groundbreaking moment for Indian indigenous sports, Kho Kho officially made its debut in Singapore, marking a major milestone in the sport’s journey towards global recognition. The debut came through a full-day event featuring training sessions, theory classes, and an exhibition match between the national teams of Singapore and Malaysia — a side that had previously competed in the Kho Kho World Cup 2025 held in India.
The landmark event was hosted at Jurong West Secondary School by the Asian Kho Kho Federation (AKKF) in collaboration with the Kho Kho Association of Singapore (KKAS). The initiative aimed not just to showcase the sport but to plant deep roots for Kho Kho’s growth in Southeast Asia.

🔷 A Day of Learning and Celebration
The event saw participation from over 180 school children from different regions of Singapore. The day kicked off with a clinical session conducted by officials from the Kho Kho Association of Malaysia, who guided students through basic skills, rules, and strategic aspects of the sport. This was followed by theoretical presentations and practical workshops. Children then participated in friendly matches to apply what they had learned in real-time action.
