Sangareddy, Telangana: Adilabad district stamped its authority at the 44th Telangana State Junior Inter-District Kho Kho Championship, emerging as champions in both the boys’ and girls’ categories. The two-day event concluded on Sunday at Mythri Ground, Patancheru, Sangareddy, witnessing spirited performances from young athletes across the state.
The championship featured 11 boys’ teams and 11 girls’ teams, showcasing Telangana’s growing enthusiasm and talent pool in Kho Kho.
Adilabad’s Double Victory
In the boys’ final, Adilabad secured a hard-fought win over Rangareddy with a 34–28 scoreline, clinching the title in a closely contested battle. Meanwhile, the girls’ team delivered a dominant performance, defeating Mahbubnagar with a commanding 42–8 victory to seal the championship.

Speaking on the occasion, Sri Nathi Krishna Murthy, General Secretary, Telangana Kho Kho Association, expressed pride in the athletes’ performances.
“We are thrilled to see such a strong showing of talent and sportsmanship at the championship. I commend all participants for their dedication and teamwork. I extend my gratitude to the Kho Kho Federation of India (KKFI) and its President, Sudhanshu Mittal, for continued support and guidance. This championship has reaffirmed our commitment to promoting Kho Kho and nurturing young talent in the state,” he said.
The tournament featured participation from 11 districts, including Adilabad, Medak, Hyderabad, Khammam, Nizamabad, Rangareddy, Warangal, Karimnagar, Mahbubnagar, Nalgonda, and Peddapalli.
With its double triumph, Adilabad has set a new benchmark for excellence, strengthening its reputation as a powerhouse in Telangana’s junior Kho Kho circuit.
