Kho Kho World Cup 2025 Trophy Design: A Tribute to Sport’s Rich Heritage

New Delhi, January 5, 2025: In a momentous stride for the indigenous sport of Kho-Kho, the Kho Kho Federation of India (KKFI) unveiled the official trophies for the Kho Kho World Cup 2025 on January 3. The exquisitely designed trophies reflect the sport’s rich heritage while embodying its bold, dynamic future on the global stage.

The trophies are a masterful blend of elegance and symbolism, capturing the essence of the fast-paced, strategy-driven nature of Kho-Kho. Crafted with flowing curves and bold structures, the design signifies movement and teamwork, while the golden figures atop each trophy celebrate the speed and precision synonymous with the game.

“These trophies represent not just victory but the transformation of Kho-Kho into a global phenomenon,” remarked Shri Sudhanshu Mittal, President of the KKFI. “They are a beacon of inspiration for players and a testament to our sport’s growing international appeal.”

Distinctive Trophy Designs

The World Cup will feature two separate trophies:

  • The Blue Trophy for Men’s Championship: Symbolizes trust, determination, and universal appeal.
  • The Green Trophy for Women’s Championship: Represents growth, vitality, and resilience.

Both trophies are adorned with intricate crystal detailing, which creates a dazzling interplay of light, symbolizing the dedication and perseverance required to excel in the sport.

“The unveiling of these trophies marks a defining moment for Kho-Kho,” said Shri M.S. Tyagi, General Secretary of the KKFI. “They encapsulate our vision of elevating Kho-Kho to the international stage while honoring its deep-rooted traditions.”

Grand Stage for Global Competition

The Kho Kho World Cup 2025 is scheduled from January 13 to 19 at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi. Featuring 21 men’s and 20 women’s teams from 24 countries across six continents, the event promises to be a vibrant showcase of talent, unity, and the sport’s universal appeal.

Organized under the aegis of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, the tournament underscores India’s commitment to promoting Kho-Kho on the world stage.
