The program has already drawn global participation from seven countries—Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Iran, Australia, England, Korea, and Malaysia—with nearly 20 international delegates. In addition, the course will train 50 Indian coaches and 65 technical officials from across the country, making it one of the most expansive and inclusive technical development initiatives ever undertaken in Kho Kho.
Training with a Global Vision and Scientific Approach

The training is divided into two segments:
- Coaching sessions from June 2 to June 11

“A Generation of Leaders for the Global Kho Kho Movement”
Speaking on the significance of this initiative, Sudhanshu Mittal-President,KKFI stated:
“This course reflects our commitment to preparing a new generation of coaches and technical officials who are equipped with the knowledge, tools, and international exposure to take Kho Kho to the next level on the global stage. As the sport integrates science and technology—from mat-based play to the Decision Review System—developing skilled human capital is the cornerstone of sustainable growth.”
The course for coaches will conclude on June 11 with a practical examination, followed by a reflection and closing session, paving the way for the technical officials’ segment to begin on June 12.
Elevating a Traditional Sport with a Modern Identity

Over recent years, Kho Kho has undergone a significant transformation. Evolving from a traditional Indian game played on mud courts, it now features mat-based arenas, digital scoring, and dynamic innovations such as the introduction of the ‘Wazir’ role. These changes have dramatically improved the sport’s pace and viewer engagement.
Importantly, this evolution is not limited to format alone. With increasing international participation and professional leagues emerging, the need for standardized, scientific, and elite-level training for coaches and officials is more critical than ever.
This Advanced III-A Level Course, therefore, is not just about skill enhancement—it is about aligning coaching and officiating standards with global benchmarks. The course builds the foundation for more technically proficient tournaments and ensures the sport keeps pace with its expanding global footprint.
India as the Epicenter of Global Kho Kho Growth

With this initiative, KKFI reinforces its vision of establishing India as the epicenter of Kho Kho’s international growth. It underlines the country’s leadership not only in talent development but also in education, regulation, and scientific innovation within the sport.
Furthermore, the course is a testament to the rising credibility and stature of Kho Kho on the global sports map. By fostering international collaboration, cross-border learning, and professional development, KKFI is nurturing a truly global ecosystem for Kho Kho
