Patna, 20 December: The eagerly awaited Asmita Khelo India Women’s Kho-Kho League, featuring Under-14 and Under-18 categories, is set to take place from 28 to 30 December at Minj Stadium in Gopalganj. Organized under the joint banner of the Bihar State Sports Authority and Kho-Kho Association of Bihar, the event will be hosted by the District Administration, Gopalganj.
The Secretary of Kho-Kho Association of Bihar, Neeraj Kumar Pappu, stated that preparations are proceeding in full force under the leadership of the Director General of Bihar State Sports Authority, Ravindra Shankaran. The Bihar State Sports Authority is ensuring high-quality arrangements for accommodation, food, transportation, and ground facilities. Ravindra Shankaran himself is closely monitoring all the arrangements, while District Sports Officer Abdul Rashid is overseeing preparations at the local level.
Participation and Facilities
The league will witness participation from 24 teams from across the country, with 456 women players competing in the sub-junior and junior categories. Additionally, 72 team managers and coaches, along with 50 technical officials, will be part of the event to ensure smooth match proceedings. Senior officials from the Kho-Kho Association of India, the Bihar State Sports Authority, and the Sports Authority of India are also expected to attend.
To accommodate the players, coaches, and officials, the District Sports Department is organizing lodging in city hotels and guest houses. Arrangements for high-standard meals are also being made.
Venue Beautification
The Minj Stadium, the league’s venue, will be transformed into a visually appealing and grand arena. Two courts will be specially prepared for the matches, providing players with excellent facilities to showcase their skills.
The Asmita Khelo India Women’s Kho-Kho League promises to be a landmark event, celebrating the spirit of sportsmanship and encouraging young women to excel in the traditional sport of Kho-Kho.
