News room, 03-09-2024; As per news update – In a grand event organized by the Tamil Nadu State Kho Kho Association, a Women’s Kho Kho Competition was held at Lakshmipuram Sri Rosi Vidyalaya School to commemorate the third anniversary of Mrs. P. Vijayalakshmi Amma. The competition was organized under the guidance of the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Hon’ble Mr. O. Panneerselvam BA, MLA, with the blessings of AIADMK Lok Sabha Committee Ex-Chairman and Ex-Theni MP, Hon’ble Annan B. Ravindranath MBA.
The event was inaugurated by His Highness V. P. Jayapradeep BE, who introduced the trophy and addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of sports in empowering women and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
The competition saw spirited participation from teams across Tamil Nadu. The top honors were claimed by the Sivagangai Team, who secured the first prize, followed by the Erode Team in second place. The Krishnagiri Team and Coimbatore Team took home the third and fourth prizes, respectively.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Mr. O. Raja, Principal of the school, and R. Sasikalavathi, Director, who awarded the trophies to the winning teams. The event was presided over by Mr. A. Nelson Samuel, Secretary of the Tamil Nadu State Kho Kho Association, and attended by other dignitaries, including Dr. O. R. Muthugugan, Chairman of Tamil Nadu State Kho Kho Association.
Ms. S. Aishwarya, Principal of the school, warmly welcomed the guests, while Mrs. V. Bharatharathinam, Principal of the school, expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the event.
Mr. R. Vimaleswaran, Chairman of the State Kho Kho Jury Committee, ensured that all arrangements were executed flawlessly, making the event a memorable occasion for all involved.
This competition is part of a broader effort to promote women’s participation in sports and foster a sense of community and healthy competition among the youth of Tamil Nadu.
