23-09-2024; As per news update, Kenya – The Nairobi County Kho Kho Association, in collaboration with the Kenya Kho Kho Federation (KKKF), recently hosted a successful junior championship that brought together young talent from across the county. A total of seven teams, representing different schools and communities, participated in this thrilling tournament. The championship showcased the vibrant and growing enthusiasm for Kho Kho among Kenyan youth.
The event, hosted at Deendayal Bhavan, provided the juniors and their coaches with a remarkable experience, blending intense competition with the camaraderie of sportsmanship. Each game was filled with excitement, displaying the physical agility, speed, and tactical brilliance that are essential in Kho Kho. Teams in both the boys’ and girls’ categories competed fiercely, making the tournament one of the most engaging and competitive Kho Kho events in recent memory.

Junior Boys’ Matches
The boys’ competition saw a dominating performance by Oasis Warriors, who emerged as the overall champions. Their impressive skill was on full display throughout the tournament.

The girls’ matches were closely contested, with Shofco A, Shofco B, Myto, and Oasis battling for the top spot. Shofco B and Myto offered tough resistance, but it was Oasis Girls who triumphed in the end.

Champions and Awards
In the boys’ category, Oasis Warriors were crowned champions, following an unbeaten run that saw them dominate every match. Judimo Boys secured the position of first runners-up, while Myto Boys took the second runners-up spot.
In the girls’ category, Oasis Girls claimed the title of champions after a stellar performance across their matches. Shofco Girls (Team B) were the first runners-up, and Myto Girls rounded out the podium as second runners-up.
Most Valuable Players
Two players were recognized for their outstanding individual performances during the tournament:
- John Muiruri of Judimo Boys was named the MVP for the boys’ category, having displayed remarkable skill and leadership on the field.
- Faith Nyangote from Shofco Girls received the MVP for the girls’ category, impressing spectators and peers alike with her agility, precision, and relentless drive throughout the tournament.
