Diwali Celebrations at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Highlight Community’s Love for Kho Kho

The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Hanumakonda celebrated Diwali with a unique touch this year, as the local Kho Kho Maidan was adorned with vibrant flowers, and every corner was decorated to honor the spirit of sports. The festivities were inaugurated by District Youth and Sports Officer, Gugulothu Ashok Kumar, who performed a traditional coconut-breaking ritual to kick off the puja.

During his address, Kumar emphasized the district’s potential to gain recognition at the state, national, and international levels through sports. He assured the gathering of continued support from the Hanumakonda District Sports Authority, aiming to put the district on the map in the field of Kho Kho and other sports.

Representatives from various sports associations, along with local coaches and seasoned players, came together to celebrate the festival, marking a significant community event. Key attendees included Thota Shyamprasad, General Secretary of the Joint Warangal District Kho Kho Association, Vice President Kusuma Sadanandam, Joint District Netball Association President Srujan Kant, and dedicated coaches Narendra, Srimannarayana, Devika, Raju, and Kho Kho coach Ramesh.

The gathering not only celebrated Diwali but also underscored the community’s dedication to nurturing sports talent in the region.
